Default brass

I use Rem 222 in my Sako 17/222, started with 200 pcs and I figure I'll shoot out the barrel before it becomes an issue.

I am using SAko .222R brass, bought 100 box, working well, should see me out. Just neck down and go. Had no neck splitting issues as I have had with other brands after as little as 2-3 reloads. I think with brass paying extra will be long term gain.

No John I don't think I will, but you never know someone may just have a brain explosion one day, put some up for sale at cheap price, and Ill be Johnny on the spot to grab it, stranger things have happened. Not really worried about the price of 221 brass, its just 222 that hasn't grown up yet,

I have used Lapua, Norma, Remington and Winchester 222 brass. For what its worth the Winchester brass was the most consistent. This was used in my tight neck 222, and by weight, neck dementions and length it was the most consistant.

I've been using Winchester in my Sako L461. I gave it a light neck turn because the tight chamber demanded it and they all clean up very evenly. The rifle will shoot one hole groups with this brass so I'd say it is of acceptable quality. I'd love to be able to afford the Lapua but the Win is almost half the price and in stock at Mill's Fleet Farm.

Default 222 brass

Very easily formed out of any .223 brass which is easy to find.

Me I'd make it from once fired LC 223. I'm going to save all my 222 brass for my 222.
I'm with the Iowa Fox!
Use what is most plentiful and affordable. Performance will come with just the right load combination and the brand of brass or it's original chambering will have relatively little influence over that.
