I went with a .234 neck reamer just so I didn't have to turn. YMMV.
I don't have any dies, so I can't load anything. The bushing dies are very expensive and I don't want to get it wrong investing in the wrong reloading dies.

Its .200 up from the bottom of the case. Just up from the web. If you look at a reamer print if will reference it with one of the measurements on a print.
Some guys get the bolt "click" with using Lapua brass on some reamers. Guys who want to run Lapua brass usually spec it a little bigger there.

Default Lapua 221 Fireball brass

I have a .232” chamber neck and use Lapua 221 Fireball brass. I neck turn to .013” for a loaded case neck diameter of .230”. Since I use this rifle for prairie dogs with attendant dust and dirt, I am not comfortable with less than .002” neck clearance.

While neck turning this brass, I was shocked at the high spots on this Lapua brass. I do not remember encountering this lack of neck uniformity when neck turning Lapua 222 Rem or 223 Rem brass. I wonder if this is typical of 221 Fireball Lapua brass?

I have a recently rebarreled Cooper in 20 VT and can't use Lapua brass, as L Sherm mentioned. Barrel was installed and chambered by Cooper using their reamer.

hemiallen and gary,

Looks like Lapua won't work. I definitely don't want to turn necks.

On a side note, has anyone tried the ammo from Hendershots? They will load 20 Vartarg. The ammo would give me a baseline to see if I am going to like the chambering without having to spend a bunch on a set of dies right now. Thoughts?

Back in 2004 I bought my Coopers from Hendershots since they are local.I was having big trouble with my 17 M4 so bought a box of their ammo. It wasn't as accurate as what I was reloading. Neck dia were all over the place. The brass didn't appear new!/? Back then it was 49.95 for 50 rounds. Sure didn't get anymore.
