R.I.P. Blaine, his legacy will continue on in his videos and our memories.

Thumbs up

Blaine "Heavy Eagle" was a good guy, and a hell of a hunter.

He will be missed by many.

No more pain......Rest in Peace Heavy Eagle.

Default great loss

He was truly a pioneer with the small calibers, shooting coyotes with a .14 caliber, forming and making brass, making home grown videos, and freely sharing information with anybody that cared to ask. RIP Heavy Eagle, you will be missed.

Default The best friend I never met

Although Blaine and I worked together quite a bit on the 14 caliber stuff, I never met him face to face. We got to know each other quite well from our long phone conversations, and I had always hoped that we could do a hunt together and share a fire some day.

I wish strength and comfort to his family.

Blaine, don't shoot 'em all till we get there to join you

russ

Sorry for your loss Dave. I know how good a friend he was to you. I remember a little from when he posted a lot and he was a heck of a hunter and a great knowledge base. He will be missed by many.

Default Thanks Dave for the heads up and a sad day for many.....

To those that didn't know him, Blaine was in addition to being an honest, hard working man (owned a cement business) a modern day mountain man, a coyote hunter supreme and a wealth of real shooting/hunting knowledge that he shared willingly often via late night cell phone calls when neither of us had unlimited minutes. He had little patience with those who didn't understand or wanted to argue the value of small calibers specifically 17's for coyotes. I always teased him that he spent too much time on his coyote "put-up", that there were shortcuts he could take, that there was a better way to do the ears and that he sold his fur way too cheap. Perfectionist that he was, he admitted that down deep he hated even letting his fur go to a fur buyer because he knew they didn't appreciate the labor of love his finished product represented. I'll not forget you Heavy Eagle. You are in a better place and your pain gone. Good bye my friend. Jim

Damn, really a shame. I have been trying to get his videos for a few years now, everyone I talk to had real nice things to say about him. It must have been cancer or similar, the man looked really fit.
