Default RIP Sicero

Guys, I tried calling Kenny and Cathy's numbers tonight.
Both disconnected.

I just typed his name in the header: Kenny Pond/Medway, OH

Just as I figured. He passed away. Back on Nov. 30th, '17.
His obit came up to confirm it. Including his picture.
May he RIP.

I'd post it, but, no way I can figure something like that out.

Sure looks like this is going to be a bad year for losing folks already.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like you could be right, George -.

My apologies to all if this is in error. I never met Kenny but did talk with him on the phone and he seemed like a good guy.

I was privilaged to have Kenny as an over night guest at my place when he and Cathy came to CO two years ago.
He wanted to attend the stock making class at Trinidad's gun school.
Cathy bought the course for him as a gift. She went to spend the time with her dau in the NW part of CO.

After a few days he was down there. I drove down and looked him up in the class and we agreed to meet when it was
over that evening. I took him to dinner at a local BBQ joint after I visited my wife's grave the first time in 2 years.
Both times we had a great visit for a few hours. We shared several phone calls and e'mails since.

Mighty fine man, very troubled by a several years long battle with cancer.

PS: Gary, thank you for posting that link.

As some of you probably remember, Kenny enjoyed machinist work as a hobby. A few years back when Hornady was having 17 HH brass issues, some of us had several very lengthy online discussions here about making it from 22 Hornet brass with 17 HH dies which was an option.

Out of the blue, Kenny PM'ed me here and offered to make me a 17 caliber neck sizing die to neck down 22 Hornet brass. He wasn't sure but he thought that he could make a die to do that, and he wanted to experiment..... We had several conversations here and on the phone about it, and I offered to pay him for his materials, at least. He would have none of it.

About 2 weeks later he sent me this very well made die shown in the picture below. I called him and thanked him after I received it, and in the process I asked if he still had my address. He affirmed that he didn't think so, so I sent him some money in any envelope with no return address on it. He immediately called me when the money arrived wanting my address so he could send the money back and I told him to take his wife out to dinner or something similar, which he agreed to do.

As you can see in the pic with the set screw visible, the die had an adjustable neck so that you can set the sizing depth on the case neck where you wanted it to be. The die works great..!!

I knew he was struggling this past year but I didn't know that he had passed. He will be missed. A true Saubier old timer from the late 1990's/early 2000's...........

Another old early Sauberite who hasn't posted in quite awhile is trotterlg. Does anyone know anything about Larry? I hope he's well..............

Kenny and me ‘mailed each other very occasionally...usually me asking his advice which he freely gave. He did send a me book across the Pond (Pun intended) and wouldn’t accept payment.
A true gent. Hope he’s resting in peace. Ken.

A few weeks ago i asked on Saubier if anyone had heard, or knew anything about member Joe O. Joe lived in South Carolina and ‘mails have gone unanswered since before Christmas.
Ken.
PS. BCB, nice die, where is Bellerophon?
