I have no first hand experience but I would think the COAL is too long. 35 Remington maybe? not sure the action would be strong enough for a .473 bolt face either. I think I read that their only 1" diameter actions?
There's always the six8 variants out there like the 358 MGP (based off the 6.8 spc which is based off the 30 Remington) and the 35 ARk (based off the 7.62x39/6.5 Grendel) |

Additionally, both the CZ527's receiver and magazine lengths are too short to handle the 35 Remington (COAL 2.525" / 64.1mm). These are dimensions for a full-size, short action receiver. If you want CZ then you'll need to graduate the Model 550. Sorry....wandered off topic from Howa Mini to CZ Mini-mauser. I believe that it is same issue of being too small of size. Any one know what the action is threaded for on these. Just wondering as the wheels are turning, maybe spinning.
The mag for the 223 family and the Grendel is different of coarse, do they use the same bottom metal? |

M22x1 it's smaller than the full size models:
http://forums.accuratereloading.com/...3/m/7291044912 The bottom "metal" is plastic, and it's the same between grendel and 223. |

Howa Mini.....
The stock is plastic but it must have some fiber in it. The stock seems very stiff compared to some I have seen. there are steel pillars installed and it does not flex when pressure is applied.
The only down fall is the metric threaded barrel. I have been a fan of the little Sakos but they are 1000.00 dollars for a 20 year old rifle. I like the little Mini's they are machined very well and they fit those little cartridges we all like.

Heads-Up: I saw an update on the new Bell & Carlson stock designed for the Howa Minis. B&C Customer Service ("Gunner75" in threads) is setting the gold standard for responsiveness and problem solving for B&C representation on the on 6.5 Grendel Forum. They are experiencing the normal tweak and hiccups with a new production model. However, a major issue has surfaced with a significant % of buyer are experiencing feed issues from the factory magazines. Apparently, Howa’s plastic magazines can vary in geometry and tolerances from batch to batch and the magazine spring in inadequate. These 2 issues are causing a huge headache and B&C might be halting production until a suitable solution can be identified. I wouldn’t be surprised if B&C is looking for a 3rd party to manufacture aftermarket metal magazines for the How’s mini...
