You don't see this powder recommended often but don't overlook IMR3031 with those bullets. I use 58 vmax and accuracy is outstanding. Not super fast but easy on barrels. Was recommended to me by Walt Berger.

Scratch everything else and try VARGET first............

Thank me later.

Or waist money on trying other powders first. Your choice.

Varget is the PB and J of .243 and light projos.........

Charlie, your right about 3031. I read a comment that stated Walt Berger said if a 243 won't shoot with IMR3031 it won't shoot. I found book loads for it so I thought what the heck as I had plenty of it on hand. It took me to the 1000 yard shoot off that year. He was right. For the heavies in a 1-7.5 twist I have been using H100v with good results.

I use imr 3031 in 3 different 243s with bullets ranging from 55 to 95 gr and get outstanding accuracy

Yeah, I've had great luck with 3031 and 58's, but honestly never tried it with any heavier bullets. I use IMR4064 with 87 Vmax and 100 Gr Sierras. Speed and accuracy is outstanding with that. I have tried Varget with everything from 58's to 105's and it never performed as well for me as 3031 or 4064.
