Yep...
i was pretty tickled with it. the rest of the groups were about .485, and less, but that one was a good one. That is how it made the net i will see tomorrow(mother nature permitting) if I can do it again, with the same load.
Those are, by the way, loaded with a can of Varget that was treated with 2.5 gr of WS2. I do not think it adds to accuracy, but do think it aids in the clean up. That rifle cleans up like my pac-nor barreled rifle, that shoots N133, lickedy-split! I can't tell if it fouls out any faster, or not, still in break in period far as I am concerned, clean with a few strokes of the brush dipped in Butches, after a patch, then about 3-4 dry patches, and a patch of lockease. So fast, no fowler, ready to run when you close the bolt. So happy

Larry,
Make sure you chrono that load. I need to know how fast you are pushing those 55s! Can't wait to see it shoot. Later |

I am very interested in seeing the results. I shot a group in the .1s and one in the .0s but they would not repeat.

I shot today...
i didn't repeat the groups...but I knew exactly what I did wrong on every non-hit. good enough for me. I tok my 8 yr old with me, he shot his BB gun while I was trying to shoot bug holes. He is terribly distracting
I had several that repeated holes, just couldn't put together 5. My fault. I loaded up all my brass tonight, 30.0 gr varget, rem 7 1/5 primers, seated at 2.159 in length. they like to be .005 into the lands with virgin brass, it appears. What worried me is my point of impact was off to the NW by about 3 inches. Gotta get them rings lapped larry

20br
Is anyone playing these days with a 20BR ?
I've grown very fond of this calibre |

Al, I still shoot one on Sage Rats and a couple of times a year on PD's. My current one has around (1400) rds through it...and is very tired. I have a spare Bartlein (that is an exact duplicate of the original) built, but haven't put it on yet. Trying to get all the goody out of the original...LOL! I've stayed with the 55 gr Bergers. They shoot the best for me with RL-15. The 20BR is still my favorite long range 20 cal. Easy to tune and very accurate. I have the least problems with it over any other large case capacity 20 cal I've tried. Longest PD shot for me with it was just under 700 yds. 410gauge

I havnt shot the 55's because I still have 50's which I've been savoring.
The 50's are fast and flat shooting with lots of energy for long distance shots. Just a really nice cartridge to work with... |
