children and dogs train their owner and convince them it's the other way around.

That's good news. He'll be back once he kills
that elk for the year.

Thanks Rick

I'll have you fellas know my new pups have me trained nicely....except for the occasional boo-boo on the rug embarrassed to tell .
Thanks for the concern guys, sincerely. Johnly I truly apologize for not getting back to ya, old guy memory thing I marked your email as unread so I'd get back to ya and it's still right there with all the other "saved as unread emails".
No elk this year George, ain't fired a rifle since the elk that got whacked last year. Got three unfired by me guns back there in the safe and it's been bugging the heck outta me every time it crosses my mind. Short version is I got a serious dose of the back saddness, old guy paying for young guy screw ups and injuries, real common bummer that it is.
As to "What I did on my summer vacation".
Remember these two from last year?

Well here they are now, Taggart "Tag" and Duke.

I'll finish in a follow up post.

Default Where's MTDOUG lately ?

Glad you are doing okay, even with the back issues. Our silly stuff, when we were young, does catch up with us. Nice to see your post and the pups, now grown, look very nice. Bill K

Now I will add a edit to this post, after I read your further information. Sure glad, as all of us are, that the wife is okay also, that sure did not look like a good situation. I truly wish that LE would focus very heavy on those that drive and have a hand held in their hands. Too me that is one worst thing occurring now days, more so than the attention to seat belts, etc. Bill K

The main part of my absence is an accident that ended up a blessing. We live out of town a ways off of a road called the Frontage road, two lanes, 50 miles per hour. One entering road on the whole thing and the entering side has a stop sign.
Nancy was driving towards town at 50 and right before the entering road some young Lad that was undoubtedly messing with his handheld communication device pulled directly out in front of her to turn the direction she was coming from, she T-Boned him.

Long story short through the Grace of a benevolent God both parties survived. She's been dealing with a lot of soft tissue injuries, bruising and such but it's a car built for safety so she lived, I was told that by the Highway Patrolman and it was obvious when ya saw the aftermath. 2017 Honda Accord, she now has a 2018 Honda Accord, really upended our lives but I sure ain't complaining.
So hopefully as she gets more mobile and things get back to normal I'll be around more. That is if the dogs quit rubbing my nose in the carpet and throwing me outside .
Thanks again for the thought guys.

great to hear from you Doug. Got to missing you!

WOW! Mighty lucky both survived that: 50 is plenty fast to nail an
idiot. be glad it wasn't head on! I tried that once! (@ 40mph)

going to Co Spgs yesterday the sign said: "Drive Safely, 557 deaths on CO hwys so far this year"

Seems like a whole lot of us have screwed up backs.
Sure hope you get over it and Nancy heals up soon too.

Obey those PUPS!
