GLWenzel,

If you compare the weight of projectile and muzzle velocity of the 410 slug you are very close to a 30 carbine.
I know first hand how easy it is to kill a white tail around here.... but that said I have too many other guns that haven’t killed a deer yet and I just can’t get out like I would like too so it’d be highly unlikely anyhow..

But I can see me making time to shoot some slugs at a few steel gongs I have.

Thanks for the suggestion, I never would have given thought to a slug down a smoothbore.

Not me, it’d be illegal to harvest deer... although I don’t get to do that much these days lol my dad had it right, a 22-250 was about as good as it’d get for a one gun around here.

But I do live the hornet and it was my 22 mag for nearly 20 years (I didn’t mind RFs I just enjoyed the reloading part too much to own RFs lol)

Although it has nothing to do with martinis, I was thinking the exact same thing lol

Yes like I said earlier ^^^ Whitetails are not that hard to kill around here but the law is what I go by and like you said why limit yourself to one of the low end of the spectrum when there are so many other fun and interesting rounds to shoot.

Currently, I’d like nothing more than to harvest a deer with my 15” 6.5-BB.

I personally prefer the 22 k-hornet much better than the 22 hornet but I’ve have four standard 22 hornets and not interested in getting rid of them.

But the 22 Jet has captured my heart a year or so ago so it’s my go to 22 where the hornets and bees don’t get shot as much. Well except the recent model b 65 with peeps; I’m still in the honeymoon phase with it.

The 22 mags are pretty much collecting dust until raccoon season. But if I go PD’n then I’m sure my son won’t let me go with out both of us taking our 597s lol

Gary:

Funny thing about "gun discussions with our Dad's"

Mine was here sometime around 2009. Don't know what
brought it up. But guns came up and lead to: "how many guns
do you think I have?" "about 30", "want to see 'em" "sure do, I
have for a long time".

Ok, here goes, keep count. Talked about several of course. when it
was over, he said: "I counted 39" Hell of a deal.

He died Oct '10, they've multiplied since. Just can't seem to put a stop
to them doing that. (really don't want to) Someone's gonna get 'em all
one day, hope he has a place to put 'em.
