Default Can I size 221 FB to 20 VT with Bushing die

I want to size 221 FB lapua brass to 20 VT. Can I do it with a Redding bushing neck sizer or a bushing FL sizer?

Default Sizing VT

I use my bushing neck die and reduce with three different bushings, can't remember which ones but then I full size the case with my VT full size die. works great, do the same thing for my 20 SCC. Good shooting

Many folks just lube the neck of the 221 FB case lightly and slowly size it down in their 20 VT FL die, or with the smaller bushing in the 221 FB bushing die, if that is what you have. Bill K

Bill,
I have a redding body die and bushing neck die for 20 VT. The largest bushing I have is .228. I do have a redding bushing for 22-250 that .248. Maybe have to buy a FL die.

I made a taper bushing that should work. I am away from my loading bench for the week, I will let you know if it works.

Your .228 bushing should work just fine. I use the same, but in my rifle I end up using a final bushing in .226 for neck tension. This same .226 is also used in my 20-223ai chamber. I also use the Whidden and Redding fl bushing dies. I do have a Hornady fl die, but use it very little. Bill K

I have not tried any of Lapua's 221 fire ball brass, so are you saying the head size is large enough that it will not feed in a 221 fire ball bolt, even though they sell it as 221 fireball ? Bill K

Would you then turn the necks?
