Default Anyone interested in a .10 cal?

Folks, we have some customers looking to get into the .10 caliber for the fun of it. We can get the blanks made, but we need enough people to jump on board for the blanks. If we can get enough folks on board I'll be happy to sell the blanks at cost just so we can justify them. Quote was 450.00 a blank 20" long + S/H. I'll bulk order the reamers as well and the same applies to them, or if everyone wants the same chamber, we'll cover the cost of the reamer. Let me know by post, PM, or e-mail.

Okay, the .10 barrels are on order, if you want to jump in let me know so I can add to it. I'm planning on either a reamer based on the .22 Hornet or the .32 H&R Mag. Still a toss up, maybe both. Marty at Twisted Barrel has said he will make the bullets, cleaning rods and jags, and dies. So we are all set for the project. My barrels will of course be used on the T/C action, and I prefer short tubes so I'll have stubs around for anyone else.

Hmmm......I can try something new in a 14, 12, or a 10? If you look at that statement, it could be misconstrued for a conversation I'm having with a clerk in the electrical department at the Home Depot. For bullets, would I be able to cut 10 gage copper wire into 1/4" lengths and file it to a point? LOL

Seriously, a 10 cal sounds like a good round for specialty shooting around the ranch......like mice, sparrows, grass hoppers.....

Would one do well to use a hornet case cut down to about 5/8" -3/4" in length?

A 10 would be cool. I think something in the 8"-12" would be interesting. It would cut the cost of the blank. Whats the availablity of 10cal bullets?

The bullets are taken care of, cost is 45.00 per 100. I'm going to aim for a 7g to 7.5g and a 10g. Comments on the weights?

This is not experience speaking, but another gent made the comment that is was pretty cool to shoot holes through a clay pigion without it breaking.

I think the .22SQ case has about the best capacity in terms of balance, but I'm really leaning hard on the .32 case. Not real sure why, just am.

Does it have an edge over the .14 in terms of power? Nope.

Does it really fill a need not already filled? Nope.

Does it have some serious kewl factor? Yes, in spades.

I think the squirrel case would be the ticket. If you do end up with any stubs that would make it cheaper to get into let me know.

Dennis,

Your best bet is going to be to go in with someone on one of the blanks.

A gent was kind enough to ship me out some .14 and .12 SQ cases, and I agree it will be perfect for the .10 cal. Now we just need to get everything built on a reasonable time schedule and get it all in together.

We will have the reamer for the chamber and dies.

If anyone wants to split the cost of a barrel let me know so I can put 2 & 2 together and get as many folks covered as possible.
