Default long jump

I have a 204R AR15 the ammo for it is short (2.25 OAL) because of the magazine length. I was out with my AR15 and my savage bolt 204R, tried some of my short AR ammo in the bolt gun and it shot better than the regular, up to the lands stuff, I was surprised and after, not so uptight about jumping bullets. I have always felt if you could load up to or in to the lands it was alwayse better, ya well; almost alwayse better. sgtg out

Glad you go them to work for you - factory rifles sometimes do better with a bit of jump to the lands.

1.675" is the length for the 17HH that is listed in the Hornady manual for 25gr
