Default 20 Vartarg

Hey Guys,
The Vartarg should be here soon
I currently have 32 gr Blitzkings, 32 VMaxes and 30 gr Bergers.
Powder; I've got H4198. Any ideas where to start and end?
What would be one more powder to try?
Thanks,
Scott

I started with 17 grains of N130 and 32 grain hornady vmax in my m21 cooper. I was able to go to 19.2 grains with a full case not getting anywhere near some of the published data I have seen. In my rifle, 17.0 grains was a very conservative place to start. Im brand new to reloading and experienced very gradual speed increases and no wierdness with the N130 in the vartarg which was a super easy introduction to reloading.

I use 32 grain V-Max's treated with Kindlers SPL. I started with 17.4 grains of H4198 and went up .2 at a time to the load I settled on which is 18.7 grains using 7 1/2BR primers. Keep in mind all powder lots are different so my info other than maybe the starting point means nothing in your rifle. My rifle has a minimum spec chamber with a .228 neck and zero free-bore, the bullets are seated squarely into the lands. In the summer I clock just under 3,800fps with this load out of a 24 inch barrel.
As to another load, no ideas. I'm not an endless tinkerer and as I have 8lbs of H4198 and this load shoots bug holes (it shoots better than I can shoot it) I stopped looking after about the 4th group with this load.
