Saw 12 boxes of Hornady .218 Bee on the shelf...
...25 rounds for $44.99. Wow! Is this normal pricing or high for .218 Bee?

Regular or not.
That's GOUGING imo. Same as $190/1000 for primers or $975/8lbs 1680 I heard about.

Last fall I spotted a box of 222 Remington on the local Walmart ammo shelf. Nothing more. Since my 222 hasn't seen a factory load since it left the factory I didn't think it needed to now.

Don't know about down there but that is a pretty common price for them up here. You don't see it for sale often, usually would have to order it in. Personally I reload so as long as I have brass it cost me abut 8 bucks for the same 25.

218 bee
It’s gouging if someone is crazy enough to pay that for it. I’ll do without before succumbing to that kind of pricing.
