PLan on getting an AR in 17 Remington for next coyote season and looking for suggestions on who to contact. Also looking for any advice on barrel length or anything related to an AR in 17Rem.

If I went that route, in either cartridge, I would go with a 20 in barrel. Talk to Pac-nor about a barrel and help. Bill K |

Thanks, have a place to start. Hadn't really thought about 17-223, set up for 17 Remington reloading and it does what I need it to do.

I would do a 17-223 or 17 Tactical before I did a 17 Rem, in an AR....much better/cheaper brass availability, I have a 17 Tac and a 17/222. I may be persuaded to sell the 17/222 upper, if someone was to ask nicely.

Now as nice as a 17/222 is why would you sell it. Are the other 17 based round, you have, just easier to feed in the AR with feeding in magazine, action and all ? Just curious. Bill K

I have numerous 17's in AR's as well as bolt guns, I wouldn't go any shorter than the 17/222 in an AR, it can be done but feeding problems will arise unless everything is perfect, really no need to mess with it..
IIRC my 17/triple deuce is a 10 twist, I have it set up for 20gr bullets at the moment, my fox rifle, it has a nice light weight barrel on it.
