Having shot a good number of foxes with 20BR and 50 gr Bergers ( both match and varmint versions) mainly 80 - 150 yards then they can tear up the victims especially with a front on quartering shot. Think it just depends what the bullet strikes on its way through, one that came to mind almost broke a front leg clean off, went through the chest lengthways and disembowelled the fox.
As an aside i cant see any difference between the varmint and match versions of the 50gr Berger. I did shoot two medium size cubs with one 39gr SBK a couple of summers ago, about 95 yards, straight through the first ones chest with hardly a mark, took one crossing behind it through its neck, both killed outright. You would have thought that the 39 would break up fast having hit a shoulder. Nice rifle by the way, we share the scope of choice as well. A Last edited by Alycidon; 10-04-2018 at 08:40 PM. |

Nice rifle
What stock do you have on the rifle? Which model Bat is your rifle? I agree on the smoothness of the action. Very nice looking rifle!

20BR Imp.
Do you feel shooting both that the improved version is worth doing over the 20BR?

My stock is a ROBERTSON
I don't see any advantage shooting a 20BR-IMP verus a 20BR If there is any advantage it is very small and not worth the cost of custom dies. But, if you like the 20BR, the 20BR-IMP is worth the long term investment. I really like the 20BR case and its capabilities |
