Any 6x47 Remington gurus??
Decided to play around with my 6x47 Remington. It's a Cooper Model 51, so obivously not a bench gun. I know the old standby powders but wondered if anyone had tried 8208 XBR or Benchmark. Thought about trying 6PPC Data backed down for starting loads.

Hodgdon lists data for the 6x45 (6mm-223) using 8208. I would go with that data as there’s just a few % difference between the 223 and 222 mag case volumes

I have a pair of them, one is a KoO M84 and the other is a Rem M700.
If your looking to shoot 70 gr. bullets RL-7 will give you 3200 fps and delivers excellent accuracy in my rifles. H4198 would be another powder worth exploring as would, as would AA2230, H335, and AA2460. If you have a 1/10 twist barrel, I had really good luck with the 90 gr. Speer and BLC-2. John |

I have a 6X47 built with a XP100 action the gun was built in 1976 I think and still has the same barrel a Hart 1:14 I still shoot it in local Matches just for fun . I shoot 27 gr of 748 and it will group around .170-.183 ,LOL you know it needs a new barrel because It always comes in last place . but still a great varmint gun . And I'm still shooting Federal nickel Brass because I had a lot of it .

herb if you can get the 58 gr hor to shoot it may be a first. i have tried them in my 6ppc,6x45 and my 6x47 and found the 55 balistictip shoots circles around it.
that said there are always exceptions to every rule. 58's are a lot easier to find than the nosler 55 balistictip or Varmageddon. been looking for some 55 Balistictips myself.

I've been using H322 with some decent results and thought I'd lke to try 8208 and or Benchmark. I'ts a Model 51 with a fluted barrel.
