I thought it was a scope reticle thing? Bullet Drop Compensator. I could be wrong.

I asked about the same cartridge recently and was advised it is based on the 222 necked down to 17cal with a 30 degree neck

Hello,
I designed the 17 BDC to have the same case capacity as a 17 Remington but in the shorter case of the .222 Remington. Forming the case requires a simple necking down of the 222 Remington case and then fire form to blow out the shoulder. You can use 17 Fireball die to reload after that. The reamer I have requires the neck be turned.

So far I have do very little load development. I have shot 17 Remington start loads with the 17 BDC and they have worked fine.

I hope that helped you out and let know if you have any other questions.

Thanks
Brett

Thanks for the replies. I found a reamer for sale with a .196" neck. I like oddball stuff just curious if any other shooters had any experience with it.

then most likely you'll find when firing the
necks will split due to too tight a neck.
After that, ream it out to about .203" and
live happily after.

Necks splitting because its too tight? Where did you get that load of crap??? How many 17AH's did Bob Green chamber for the guys here back when that was the cartridge you had to have???? His reamer..... .193" neck. I've got one. Shoot's like a house of fire and I've never split a neck in mine. How thick are the necks for a .262" neck PPC? I'll bet they are a heck of a lot thicker than you'd have on a .196" neck .17. Lets say you have .002" clearance for both, .17 would have .011" per side, PPC would have .0085.
