Default Lapua Brass

A few years back I bought 200 .222 Rem Lapua cases. This year as I was shooting up the last of my lead core bullet-ed rounds before a switch to lead free, I had a complete case separation in my .222 Rem Martini Cadet. the fact that these cases had only three reloads on them was puzzling. After shooting up all my loaded ammo I full length resized and carefully visually examined as well as "paper clip" checking all six hundred cases for incipient separations. These were the Lapuas, 200 Noslers, and about 200 Winchesters of various vintages, some many times fired. Of the batch I rejected 49 cases, all showing signs of separation at exactly the same place, not just above the web, but half way between the head and the shoulder. All rejects were Lapuas. No other brand had any sign of separation. Guess which brand I won't buy again.
