Not sure why we small caliber nuts would want this...
But coming to a cartridge near you soon lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeGyFwIhGuE Makes sense to me...seems like it’s based on old school technology working very similar to a pressure valve bonnet.

If you want to run big psi, all you have to do is say, "it's safe in my gun", and load it 200 fps over the load data, and say the lawyer's make them put the low charge's in the book.

Basically the same high/low system the M79 grenade launcher ammo uses. A class 3 dealer friend of mine owns one and loads practice rounds for it.

I’m extremely pleased with the velocity I am getting as is with my small calibers... In fact the only place I can see where this would come into play for me personally is with the 17 CCM and maybe the 22 CCM where there is so little brass in the case head to begin with, it doesn’t take much to over pressure it.
That said I was impressed with the design and how it was old tech pressure valve design..... Think a SS case head could be re-primed without the use of special decapping pin... and what type of primer will withstand the additional pressure? Seems that would be the next best place to let a little pressure escape

Interesting.
Too bad it is from Sig. Their new whiz-bang P365 SAS is only guaranteed it hit a somewhere on full silhouette at 5-7yds. Who needs to spend +$600.00 on something that does not even need sights. Fooled once. Gonna pass on this one. Michael. |

Gary - I suspect the harder cup mil-spec primers would be needed
for the 80,000psi pressures they are discussing.

If it ever becomes mainstream it could prove to be quite viable to turn up performance. I was playing around with quickload and it's pretty impressive what pressure does. Velocity gains are quite a bit and powder burn goes up. it also generally bumps you down in the powder burn chart a good bit.
But 1 thing that hasn't been stated is throat life.....that may be the kiss of death to the whole deal. |

We had discussed this (not here) it would surely torch a normal throat in no time at all. I never did play with QL going much into the red.

I would think the pressure would be quite horrific on the throat. Excessive temperature as well.
