I will up the average a hair, was 73 last August. Was born Aug 16, 1945 right after Japan surrendered, the nurses dubbed me "Victory Joe". I consider that quite an honor. Lots of great stories in this crowd. When you are young, you are always wondering "when will I be old enough to ........... Then when you get older, it's more like "where the hell did all those years go?" Best to all of you!

Default I’m feeling older but I guess I’m on the young side!

On Election Day in 1976, November 2 1976, thanks to my mother and father And the Lord up above, my life began.

I always liked November when I was younger, but much more so since I’m chasing Grouse usually around that time and it is hunting season in general.

Dang! Like Rick I'm only here as a miracle of modern medical science . I always thought I was on the senior end of this august company and now I find I'm just another member of one of the best senior citizen centers on the world wide web. I can assure ya that like everyone, the older I get the better I was .
Guess I expected to see some guys in their 20's but then I think the dues for this club are a bit steep for shooters that age, woulda been for me. One gun safe was my limit back then and it wasn't full by any means.
We'll have to have a thread on Muscle Cars and Motorcycles and fast horses some day, bet there's some stories here too with this sites average age.
Good idea for a thread Alex .
Keep em coming guys, if you forget your birthday just look at your drivers license .

I am 70 but watching the todo about George H.W. Bush, I think I will do my darnedest to live that long, he seemed to have had a good life after 70, doubt that I will jump out of any airplanes, just saying. I think moving to Wyoming should add at least 10 years to my life. We get there this spring.

I think the line about 'miracles of modern medical science' from Rick and Doug surely fits most of us that have lived a few years, even if they were rode hard and put away wet. The threads on cars, motorcycles and horses will be great topics for another day. Just ran into a guy at a family get-together last Fall, who drove in with his street legal '50's Sprint car replica complete with a hopped up V8-60 flathead power. He was maybe a bit over 80, and is a retired HS shop teacher. I drooled all over it, but mainly because I was asking questions that most younger folks couldn't ask or understand. He was appreciative of the fact that I understood.

My brother turns 70 in a few days & he's a LOT older than I am.
I'll be 69 in the Spring.
Right now, that makes me 68 and he's 69.
Knees, hip and back aside, I'm just a kid.
