I've never played with the .32/20 or 32, 327's. Dad met a cow elk on
a trail and busted her forehead with a pistol load .32/20. Found the
bullet flattened on the skull like a 50 cent piece, didn't penetrate at 20 feet.

I have shot a Blackhawk 30 carb surely 10,000 rnds.

After trying I think 19gr H110 in it and nearly had to pull the
gun out of my teeth I backed off and settled on either 12.0 or 12.5gr
H110 or H4227. Don't recall which load for which powder. 1215fps.
Shot a beef with one once. Bullet was found buried in the back half the
Atlas joint: 11" penetration. Stopped his heart too, made the butcher mad
as "the blood stays in the meat". That's bs, we fried steaks from a .22 killed
beef from the same time along side the other and four of us couldn't tell the
difference in taste.

That was with the factory tiny grips though. My big hands can barely
get ahold of those things. Bill Ruger must have had little hands.

I've since put the Hogue rubber grips on all my revolvers except the K-38 with MP grips and the BP cap n balls guns with the tiny grips.

These sure tame the big kickers down. Again I don't load too heavy a charge.
20gr H110 with even 320gr in the .45 Colt is plenty. close to 1200fps. i tried 25gr in it once and that's just ridiculous recoil for less than 100fps gain. So far i haven't killed anything with the .45 yet. When out hunting I wear one all the time. Figured I'd shoot an elk if it happened by within 100yds or so and the rifle wasn't in reach. Mostly I shoot 250g SWC's same charge.

Had a 32-20 in a old S&W copy revolver years ago and shot it a fair amount, then for some dumb reason traded it off, always wanted it or another back.
A small lever action in one would be a fun gun for light game or even deer, up close and personal. Like bow hunting.

The 32-20 taps out at 16,000 psi where the 327 fed mag is around 43,000psi.

My intended purpose is coyote hunting up close, under 100yds most likely 50yds. With the 85xtps it might make a good fur rifle?
