He got the first one with no issues but Customs got the second one and paid him a visit. Got his computer and he mentioned that they treated him like a terrorist.
I never heard from him again but learned a lesson. I DON'T ship anything to OZ, no matter what anybody says.

Sister married a Guy from Canada. They moved back and forth from Canada and toured all over the U.S.
Sister had a lady friend in Canada so she shipped her a silk blouse from the U.S. Customs got it and it was never seen again. Don't ship ANYTHING if you don't know the rules!!
Now isn't that fascinating, I assume from your post that there is some obscure rule regarding shipping a silk blouse out of the USA?

I can certainly understand the tactical stock because to get anything that is part of a firearm into Aussie requires an import permit, and depending on value and when this was done it may have required an export permit to ship it out of the USA.

You can try Canada, be a bit more expensive, but less restrictive rules, on sum stuff, reloading tooling is ok.
Prophet river firearms normally has 6TCU, P&D enterprises, or one of the gunsmiths, or barrel suppliers, Mystic persion, etc.

I have no idea if it applies here, but for the record since the issue was posed as perhaps being impossible by the OP, NAFTA rules placed restrictions on fabrics and apparel shipped between countries that did not "originate" in one of the NAFTA member countries (US, Mexico, Canada).

IIRC, silk was an excluded item under NAFTA, but that does not negate the possibility of a silk item being confiscated under the very vague and cumbersome NAFTA "rules of engagement". All it took was an "overachieving" customs agent working with vague rules to make mistakes like that happen.

So, yes......"some obscure rule" may have been involved with Nor Cal Mikie's sister that has nothing to do with shipping reloading dies to OZ.

BCB:

AND might of been one that liked that blouse!

How's the swamp rats down your way?
Even Ken asked if I'd heard from you since the
storm.

As for the dies, looks like it's been taken care of already.

AND is always a possibility..........

We had maybe 1-2 MPH winds and clear skies in the Houston metro area when Laura came ashore. The cajuns and the east Texans in the path got hit hard....cajuns far more so than the east Texans....

We had 20-30 mph winds and maybe 1.5" of rain in about 1 hour last Friday afternoon from a typical summer storm squall that came in off the Gulf. Just a normal part of living here.

"Even Ken........." I like that......
