Does anyone have any experience with this round or load data. Considering an encore barrel or possibly a rem 700 build

Default well....

I'm guessing you want to shoot the 22 heavies fast? The 224 TTH is basically a 22-6mmRem designed to shoot a 75-80gr bullet with a fast twist. I have a 220AI(9tw) and a 22-243(8tw) and both of mine will approach 3600fps with a 75gr bullet. I'm using RL22 in mine, both barrels are 27"+ and they will do a number on feral pigs.

fantastic cartridge , 75 gr amax to 3600+ using Retumbo
Lonnie Hummel set records in 1k br using it in MO? (I think) using 80 Amax.

I still have a heavy "remage" barrel in this caliber around here somewhere.

The 22/257IMP has been around a long, long time. Clark and others wildcatted the 257 Roberts with a 22 bullet a lot of ways. The Roberts is the parent of the 6mm Rem; a fine line of cartridges for their purposes.

A fine fast cartridge with a slow or fast twist, take your pick. Can be hard on barrels with what we have today, but probably not a high count rifle anyway.

Kinda like driving a Ferrari, who cares about gas mileage; it is about what it is, what it does, and how it makes you feel......

The 22/257 has a little edge on the improved Swifts(I have one in a pre64) with the way it feeds from the magazine, no worry really about stacking in the magazine in my opinion.
