I really like the profile of that stock with the shadow line cheek piece and lack of rollover. Gives it that sleek Classic look with the open wrist, very nice. Are you doing a grip cap?

The sun was shining and I had a spare half an hour, so dropped the metalwork into the stock and snapped off a few pics - here's one of them

I have had a .20-222 built on a Sako L461 action using a Pac-Nor 26" stainless barrel with a 1-in-11" twist. Originally I just dropped it into the old beaten up Sako factory varmint stock for load development, but in the background I ordered a machined stock from Hatchers Rifle Stocks in the 'English Classic Varmint' style. The Hatcher stocks are semi finished and require final fitting, shaping and a surface finish applied. I used Organoil with a wet sanding finish for this one.
Once I had around 20 coats of Organoil on it I sent it away to get pillar bedded. The LGS rang me yesterday to say it had come back from the gunsmith so on my way home from work I dropped by and picked it up. I re-mounted the scope and headed out to my range to re-zero it. After the first shot to zero (was ~2" further to the right) these were the next three shots: I'm very happy with how it has come together. Marcus |
