The bottom line is the American model has been the best chance the world has ever seen for innocent human beings to escape a life of suffering, misery and premature death. Progressivism is totally invested in increasing innocent human suffering, misery and death. It is a death cult that serves an insatiable master. That is the alpha and the omega of their hatred for this country.
They have been inculcated with a sense of envy being a virtue and not the cardinal sin that it is. The perpetually immature, weak minded and immoral are soft targets and fall for the absurd and contradictory nonsense that history has documented is not the path to living joyous and fulfilling life and that breeds resentment of those who have found what they believe they are deserving of, but have been cheated out of. During the mostly peaceful rioting I had many people who have never lived in close contact with progs remark that they could not fathom how people could be so consumed by hatred for others. What those of us who have lived among them recognize we were witnessing was the manifestation of individuals whose lives are totally consumed by self hatred projecting their malignancy onto any convenient other and acting out. These are individuals defined by ingratitude and have absolutely no compunction lashing out at anyone who is able to live a joyous and fulfilling life. They are 100% responsible for their misery and sympathy for them is totally out of the question. Pity is more than I have to offer, all I have is indifference to the suffering they have brought on themselves. If they could just leave others alone and live out the miserable pathetic lives that they have freely chosen for themselves, I might feel differently. But they are incapable of that. No way are they going to leave anyone else alone. Last edited by JDHasty; 07-15-2022 at 09:32 PM. |

What Happened?
Oh boy, my post featuring Orygun rockchucks has devolved into something that does not involve varmints, rifles or shooting, but more (ugh) politics.
Perhaps those involved might consider starting a new thread to discuss the bogus laws CA is instituting. And we're still waiting for those pics from JDH featuring the epitome of shooting benches......

I finally got to bust a few Ground Squirrels at an old packing shed on our neighbors land. I had been keeping them at bay for 3 years, taking a few a year with my Marauder 22 cal air rifle, but this year they have dug 2 holes in my vine rows and they need killed!
Got 2 yesterday with the Marauder, and 2 today with my Browning Maxus, all drawn and quartered as per my anger at them invading my vineyard, and me not taking care of them before becoming angered at myself. The joy of the Air rifle is you can hear the thwap like BLACK DEATH gives, shotgun not so much like flight school! Sorry for no pictures, and the only flight training done was 3 of them doing the "fish out of water" flopping and tail twitching, Sorry for no images, I forgot the phone this morning. At 103 today, I am back in safety, back out this evening to try and remove the young when they come out to drink from puddles under the vines closest to their homes. Thanks again for the memories Rick, still having more memories looking at your images of that trip, the stories and first rate movies I think I didn't use my clicker, just using the 50 rd box and replacing spent brass base up or neck up to count hits and misses. And enjoyed watching your long range flight lessons doled out. The "Eastern Oregon raptor feeding society" was in the house. Allen |

I have photos now, but need to figure out how to post them
Looks like I maxed out the amount of storage available here.
I will start a new thread on the benches and stool w/integrated binocular/spotting scope stand soon as I get the photo dilemma solved. |

Air guns can be a lot of fun. We have done some varmint shooting with .177 R10 & R1 and a 22 cal HW80. Good air rifles are a lot of fun. I've had my R10 since 1990 it's tired, I have a Maccari spring kit sitting here, just need to tear it down. The R1 is older, it was completely overhauled a couple years ago and working well.
I prefer the R10 to any other spring piston air gun. |

Yup, the Beeman R-10 really thumps big ground squirrels, and is good on starlings out to over 35 yards. I dropped a huge crow from the top of a large juniper at just under 50 yards using Beeman Silver Bear HP pellets a few years ago.
Way back when I lived in BC in 1961 in high school, I asked for and received the best Christmas present ever, and would ever get....a Benjiman M317 .177 pump gun. It killed more pigeons off an old RR bridge that is believable, and I still own it. The factory completely rebuilt the rifle and refinished the brass barrel and action, all at n/c. Great old rifles that still work, and a good company that stands behind their products.
