I also played with Berger 50s in a 1 in 9 for a while. Around 29.5gr of N150 is a nice case full and was a far as I could go without pressure signs in the primer, that is 3500 and .3s usually. Thing is in a heavy rig ( 14lbs) its nice and steady and shot to shot consistency is usually below 15 fps. Not used up my stock of 50gr yet so not got around to 55s yet.

So a slower powder than most use here but so sweet, N160 is almost as good but a shade slower. I saw no benefit using N550.

Default 20br

I've only been shooting the 20BR IMP. (40 deg) for the last 5 months and the only bullet I've got are the Berger 50's (now discontinued - sadly).
Pet load is 30.5 IMR8208 @ 3730 fps ES15.03 SD5.65

Best coyote kill shot was last week @ 525 yds

I've still got the 20BR calibre with pet load being 39 SBK

I am the first to bust someone’s stones over bringing a zombie thread up……..
Just too much input in these pages not to reserect it.

I patiently await the arrival of my 20BR.
RL15 shows promise. I am wondering if the 15.5 would better?

I tried 15.5 just a bit, it acted like it would shoot just as accurately as 15, took .2 more than 15 to shoot accurately. I haven't rang it out yet.
I tried it in my 20 Nitro (20BRAI)

Should have a 20BR in hand by this time next week.
I can make use of everything I have gotten for this project.

Well right at two years and finally addressing this build.
R15, 15.5 and 8208 all but unobtainable.
I did pick up some VV150. It may or may not do what I expect or want with the 55’s in the 20 BR, only one way to find out.
Up in the air on primers, 450’s or 71/2’s.
I did load and shoot some 40 Vmax last weekend for barrel break in and setting up the scope. 10 rounds of skim turned brass, loaded with H4895. Ran over the chrono, speed was good numbers were single digits. @100 nice tight group for 5, #6 jumped out and I called it before I looked, my fault, 5 in 3/8” OD, no complaints as that is a total of 13 rounds through the tube. First three were just for checking headspace.
Necks were still a bit tight. Only about half the neck hit the cutter, so I just did a clean skim all the way around. Supposed to be a no turn chamber, but am not unhappy.

Hope this may get some looks and updated input from some.
Jeff

I have Varget, Benchmark, Big game and some others.
I may got to a faster power than I would like or deem what one would think correct. I saw mention else where of this with 55’s and good accuracy and numbers.

Finally got time and decent weather to play.
Started off on the low side with the Berger 55’s and VV150. I did 28 and 28.5 grains of VV 150, numbers were really good accuracy shows lots of promise. A little tinkering I think I can shrink it by half. @100 group was about 5/8” out side, @200 it was right at 1”, wind was 8-12mph and gusting. I thought that was darn good considering that is 33 rounds total down the tube.

I may try VV 140 if I get a full case and pressure.
I am chasing 3600, I can live with 3500+.

29.5 of VV-150 got me some good numbers on the chrono, right at 3550-3560. All loads this far have been MOA or better. Really pleased with results. Now to get my bag set up right for group and a bit of tuning.
I am going to run up to 31.0 and see what happens. Some saw pressure, but I am using 450 primers. I know I am jumping a fair bit also.
