Default M70 short actions

Are the current SC made M70 short action receivers and the older USRA CT made receivers the same or are there differences in the distance between the guard screws? I know the old style triggers can't be put on a MOA receiver.

I think the Boyd's website has some of the actions dimensions. You might check there. I can't help much more, as I only have the older M70 post '64 models and one long action. I do have a short action (308) FN labeled rifle (not USRAC) and it has the old style M70 trigger.

They are the same as far as footprint/externally. The new ones all utilize the one piece bottom metal and that inlet is different. One other thing is the barrel thread went from 1" 16TPI to a 1 1/16" 28TPI (Pretty sure that's the thread). Very fine thread on the new actions, in fact you can turn those threads off and end up with a 1" tenon and rethread for the old actions.

Thank you. Found a nice position stock and didn't want to buy the wrong receiver.
