22ppc Rem 700

Anyone ever make a 22ppc on a Rem 700 action?
Thinking of a XR100 single shot action.
Open 223 bolt face to ppc bolt face
Sako extractor
Chamber barrel in 22ppc

Would use for PD shooting.
Any thoughts?

I built a 22 PPC on a Pacific Tool & Gauge 700 action with a 12 twist heavy Lilja barrel . I shoot 53gr VMAX and it is the MOST accurate P-DOG gun I own with range out to 488yards ( longest shot so far ). If you want to know more, just let me know.

Is that a single shot action, or repeater?
If repeater, does it feed properly?
Single shot or repeater, does it eject empties properly.
I am thinking of another PD rifle.

I built a 22ppc on a Stiller Predator single shot action, 24" Pacnor #4 contour 12-twist sporter barrel with a H-S precision 700 ADL stock. It shoots the 53grn V-Max bullets right at 3400fps and is very accurate with IMR 8208XBR powder and Norma 22ppc brass. It is one of my favorite rifles to shoot.

Have several Rem actions with 22 or 6 PPC. with a sako extractor a .473 bolt face will work.

I had my 22 PPC on a 700 action rechambered to 22 BR. Slight loss in accuracy and increase in velocity and performance. Plus most 22 PPC reamers have tight necks. My BRs are no turn necks

I had a 20ppc but I used a std .473 boltface off of a 243 and put a Sako extractor on it. Pulled the cases just fine.

Check out the howa mini. These are nice receivers that are also inexpensive and come with good triggers. I think they are sized better for the ppc than a 700. If you got one in 6.5grendel, same bolt face as ppc, you could swap a barrel and be ready to go. Talk with user msalm, he has done a few of these I think. Another option is the CZ527 that comes in 30commie and would also be a barrel swap away from what you want, and in a smaller package.
