Default 25 caliber rounds

Mr. Wenzl the 25's can be fun. Bought a revolver from Gary Reeder with 3 cylinders, 25/20, 256 and 250 GNR, a 32 H&R case necked to 25. GT bullets does a 55 grain cast hollow point that is great in the small case 25's. When powder coated they can be pushed beyond normal cast lubes velocities. The 60 grain Hornady jacketed you can push as fast as case allows. Eds TC barrels is a good place to get Contender barrel. Bless You Sir, they are addictive

I have a couple of CZ 527s in 22 Hornet. I use Calhoon single shot adapters in them. I got a little curious about how a 25-20 would feed in a Hornet with the SS adapter. I dropped a 25-20 round in and pushed it part way in with the bolt. It slid in like it belonged there. To me, that answers the question of feeding a 25-20. Now to sleep on the idea and see what the morning brings. I know that need has positively nothing to do with it, on the other hand there is want!

Thanks for checking that out Bill and I think Ray H has a CZ 25-20 that he does the same thing.

It’s all about the wants isn’t it... lol

It was shocking to me to see what my son’s 32-20 would do... Then I bought 32-20 and 25-20 handgun barrels for my contender.

Ever since then, I have been thinking snout the 25-20... rebarrel my browning model 63 218 bee, CZ, or a 21” contender barrel.... I thought I could maybe find a beat up donor lever gun to rebarrel but they bring even more money lol

Maybe a rimless 25-20 on a 30 Carbine case. Might fit a Hornet bolt face.

My only 25-20, so far, is a 20" heavy Contender barrel from MGM. I load 70 Gr Blitz King with Lil Gun powder. It is accurate, can't wait to introduce it to some sage rats. I guess I can blame the wants for my interest in this thread,
as always need has nothing to do with it.

Well, I knew Photobucket had stopped allowing folks to post IMG's - then I thought they had started again, but looking again just now it still seems like they want a monthly fee. So I downloaded this pic of my Savage 25-20 and then uploaded to shutterfly, for anyone who is interested try this now:

This will be a neat project! Picked up a mint Winchester 43 in 2520 in a tiny gunshop in Alaska. Love the damn thing. Just not the availability or price of ammo 😳
