Default Not much to look at but it works well

Posted this on another forum but thought you guys might get a kick out of it.
I milled the plank from a large Ash tree that fell in a storm. Cinder blocks are from my firewood stacks.
Gun is my Rem 700 221 Fireball with a Boyd's stock and Harris bipod.

flashhole--That is a nice looking rifle and one VERY STURDY plank you have it sitting on. I hope you don't plan to haul that around when you go out shooting!!!

The original plan was to make it portable. I have hardware, wheels and axles from an old heavy duty wheelbarrow. Just haven't had the time to get it all assembled. Plenty of room to shoot on the property. Can't see it well but there is a pond in the field. Front edge is 155 yards from the bench. I shoot into the far berm.

Once I make it portable I can get about 500 yards distance.

Cement/concrete blocks.
Doubt you're even old enough to know
what Cinder blocks are!! Misused term these days.

Nice plank, finish and seal it up, would make a nice
mantel.

There will be a lot of those around here before too long. There are areas not far from here where the Emerald Ash Borer is killing off all of the ash trees, and it's not too unusual to see entire woodlots with no leaves at all this spring. I have no idea what they will do with all that wood if they even harvest it.

Makes great firewood. I have been processing an entire tree line of ash that the beetles destroyed. 5 more tress this year that did not leaf out.

Sounds like what the pine beetles are doing to our forests out here too.
Thousands of acres all dead.

Will do some target shooting this long weekend. I'll take pictures if I can.
