Default Reeds bullets

I talked to them today and they said they are gonna make their .17 cal 29 gr Bullets to 30s and will have a vld bullet in that grain. The 29's they make now are actually 29.3 he told me. That's what the ones I have weigh. He said they should have them out in a couple months.

Cool! Are these a RBBT bullet or normal BT?

We don't make any with a 'regular' boat tail. All our BT are the RBBT (Rebated) or flat base.

We are working on the light pills now, I have some 14.5g, 14.8, and 15g that we are testing to see which ones work best. I think we will likely settle on the 15g; looking that way for now. We'll also be adding a 17g and a short 19 to 20g as well.

That would be great for my large lumbering Mits. I will have to give them a try. Right now I am using Hornady's 20 and 25. They are terrible on the fingers. I have to Chamfer them hard to be able to get them to sit in the Brass. A BT would help Tons.

Default Expansion and twist

What is the recommended terminal velocity for expansion for those 17gr softpoints? Do they have super thin jackets ? Twist limits, velocity limits?

I have not gotten that established. Range trip is planned, but I just had two discs replaced in my neck last Friday, so it will be a but before I can proof them.

They are made with slightly thicker jackets than normal so they will hold up to the larger capacity cases without blowing apart in flight. The lowest velocity has not been done yet, my hope is they do well @ 1000 which would make them perfect for quiet close in shooting.
