A simple test is to pull out the seater plug and insert a bullet. You can tell by feel if the bullet nose touches and wobbles at the ogive whereas if the bullet nose has clearance ogive contact will be 100%.

To reemphasize JimD's point, OAL might be a concern when considering magazine fit or ejection port fit, otherwise ignore it and it's variance. The critical dimension is case head to bullet ogive as measured by tools such as these:

In the pursuit of accuracy, the related critical dimension is bullet jump, measured from seated bullet ogive to where bullet ogive touches the rifling lands. Some rifles are fussy about bullet jump and a rare few don't care at all.

Thank you Rarebear i do use the Stoney point OAL Gauge , The Seating stem on the LE.Wilson is marking the bullets up quite bad. I will get picture up but not sure if i can drill out any of the stem as its so thin ?.

Not sure if LE Wilson do vld stem for .17 ?
