MD hunt report
Back from the weekend hunt. If you remember last time we hunted Sat and Sun and didn't see much. Sunday it rained, so we slept in until it stopped, then went out about 9. Friday, first thing, we checked the trail cam. Looks like we blew it...time stamp on cam is an hr off due to daylight savings. He was there right before we headed out to the stand on Sunday morning.
The cam also showed a different story. We had the "green light" for mom to try to take this unique young buck. He had a double beam on one side. The cam showed he was there Monday in the fog, and in the daytime. But, sometime after that pic, he lost the double beam. Tuesday's pic. We had a bunch of other deer on cam, all at night. Friday night we saw a few does before dark. We were hopeful Saturday would improve. We were on stand at 5:30 AM and sat until 4:45 PM before we saw our first deer. Guess who it was...Mr. Double Beam, sans double. He walked into the feeder, ate a bit and strolled past the stand about 30 yards, stopping multiple times broadside in the open. Mom "practiced" shooting him, but we had to pass. He's young, and if he makes it, will be really something next year. We have 2 days in January left to hunt. See what happens... Charlie |

Thanks for sharing, decent buck, for sure. Like that feeder, home made I would say. Bill K
