If I am not mistaken (again), I believe that Ruger has what they call a target version of the mini-14 that sports a tuner on the end of the barrel. Ruger claims MOA accuracy from this model. I have have had my eye on one of these over the years - just to be different from the AR-15 crowd, but keep investing in smaller stuff. I would be interested if anyone is familiar with this "target" version of the mini and how effective the tuner really is in getting to MOA. I have a good friend with a mini that likes to rapid fire and heat up his barrel. He says that it is not very accurate, but even my precision bolt guns lose accuracy as the barrel heats up. I can't imagine shooting a 20 round magazine in rapid fire and expecting anything but a pattern and a ruined barrel. Burt

I have 2, one shoots better than the other, but they are not target rifles. However, they are a thing of beauty to shoot. They are designed to eject brass with authority. You can have all the black rifles you want. Parts rifles aren't for me.

Ah, but that is part of the fun in our sport. Changing/improving our rifles to suit our wants, etc. Heavens the Ruger 10-22 has so many add parts, like other weapons, it just makes it fun.. Bill K

Ruger's idea of a target rifle when it comes to the Mini 14 is you take out into the barn close all the doors and windows fire and hit your target.
