Default 22BR Freebore

Just picked up my 22Br from gunsmith and checked seating depth for 53vm and 75am.

Chamber cut is a Manson reamer with 0.252 neck and 0.050 freebore

Both 53vm and 75 AM only look to be maybe half way down the neck when touching the lands so I'd say I could have easily got away with zero freebore, yet when I asked about freebore for 75 AM most guys said 50-60 tho was best..

Does that sound right?

Cheers

Grant

A 22BR has a long neck, plenty of room to seat a bullet in. You could easily do a zero to .030" freebore and still use a variety of bullets. I never needed the neck to hold more powder in a 22BR.
