Default Benchrest-For-Score Nationals

Here's a drone shot of our range set up for the 100 yard phase of the IBS Score Nationals which we hosted last weekend. I feel it's most unfortunate that the rules disadvantage small calibers by using the nearest edge of the hole to determine the value of the shot. I elected NOT to shoot my .20 against all the top shooters with their .30 BR guns, not that it would have made any difference in my case. I'm sorely out of practice.

Anyway, the event went off nicely, and three new national records were tentatively set.

Hope you all had a wonderful summer.

Harold

Harold, you should tell them where it is and the history of the range.

Harold those pictures are truly a gift and I mean that sincerely, Thank You!
So many names and a few faces that I recognize from magazines back when I was a youngster are great. Just thinking about what all that those folks in the picture and those who are named on that plaque contributed to this sport give ya a lot to be grateful to them for. As a youngster I read every hunting, shooting and sporting magazine I could get hold of and your pics bring back some seriously fine memories .
The range is beautiful! Thanks again.

Thank you for sharing Harold. That photo of Walker, Page, Keith, Culver, and others makes me wish I could spend just one day with those folks at that range shooting rifles, drinking coffee afterwards, and tapping into their collective wealth of information. Truly pioneers of modern day shooting as we know it.

How is the 20 Vartarg +.100 coming along?

Thanks Harold for posting this. One of the most interesting things I have read in awhile. Was not aware of that club & it's significance.

This is a prime example why this forum is so meaningful. Putting faces with the names helps all remember our history and those that made groundbreaking efforts to advance the sport.

Thank you! Shane

Surely, Harvey Donaldson is in there somewhere. Some of the other chaps seem familiar - like the man beside Wally Hart and the fellow on the far left of that row. The man beside Warren Page also looks familiar.
