none that I recall, unless it was a lead free version? You could try 35 vmax, but the BC is awful. It's better suited for hornet case versions. I used the 40 VMax in my 223 over a stiff charge of N133 and it was accurate enough to head shoot groundhogs to 400 yards or so.

Calhoon lists a 30 grain double hollow point.

I recall Berger used to make both a 30 and 35gr HP, but never a 32gr. I have used the 30gr in a 22 Hornet with AA1680 in my No.3, and it liked them better than the 35 gr Vmax. I liked the 40gr Vmax better than the 35gr.

No factory loaded one's that I know of. However Nosler puts out a 34 grn cup/core soft point that works well. Midway and Midsouth both carry them as one of their line of 223 bullets. (Midway-Dogtown) Midsouth-Varmint nightmare. Both do a good job on varmints.

36 grain Barnes VG is about the lightest bullet that still has a decent B.C., or at least the lightest I have ever found. The 35 Hornady are fine to 150 but really don't perform after that. The 36 Barnes are good to past 400.

If you run the numbers on bc and energy trajetory, you will see why. The 30 grain Barnes has a bc of .101. The 30 grain Speer has a .091 bc. The 33 grain Speer has a .079 bc. The 34 grain Dogtown, "Nosler" has a ???? not listed, The 35 Hornady ntx has a .177 bc. The Hornady 35 Vmax has a .109 bc. The 35 grain Nosler has a .201bc which is on par with the 40 grain bullets. The tipped Varmageddon has a .120 bc. The Hornady 40 Vmax is .200 and the Nostler bt 40 grain is .220. The light bullets run out of steam pretty fast. Probably why the .204 bullets have become more popular.

Before I had to go lead free, I shot hundreds of the varmint nightmares in both 223 and 204 calibers and they made fast and explosive work on ground sguirrels and rock chucks out to the 350-400yrd mark.
Now I use the Nosler lead free 32 grain mostly, and some of the 223 NTX 35 grain in the 224's. Also the 17.5 NTX in the 17 calibers. All work very well out to 400 yrds. You just have to try them and find out for yourselves. Bill K

20 some years ago I got a 250ct box of 35 gr v'max.

At a 100yds, they matched the 40 gr. Ten shots REpeatedly into .230".

Couple of us were out calling coyotes one morning and on the way out
the hillside was covered with p/dogs 200-350yds.

I went prone and fired. bullet hit about 50 yards to one side. WTH??
Three more shots did the same at about 250. Wasn't anything closer and we
were not going to walk that way. I was rock steady, partner watched me the last
shots to make sure I wasn't pulling them off.

Another time we called 3 coyotes in on my side about 80 yards. They got into
some dried sunflowers, not very thick. I had a dead center shot at the male.
Bullet never made it!
They ran for over a mile hard as they could run. We looked at the area to see
if any blood as it was a 'can't miss" shot. Bullet jacket flakes on several stems.
Hit one fairly centered and blew up. We figured they'd gotten some splatters.

IF recall right, the load was 23gr AA2200, 26" barrel.

That's MY experience with them. I still have 80 or more loaded and the rest
not. IF I ever get back out there at 'em again. I'll take some along for the
closer shots.. They do a dandy blow up job on p/dogs to 150yds.

I also tried 60gr in a .243 hopped up fast too. At 80yds I hit a female
coyote at the base of the neck. WOW!

You ever see one's head blown clear off? This one the head flew over onto
her back, attached only by about 2" of skin. No fur left on that one!
Another I hit a male in the ribs and blew a 6" hole out the far side. No fur there either.
I skipped a week and got the .223 back from rebarreling the next week.
Those two shots reminded me of when I used the '06 and hot 110gr RN's.
IF you ever want to see a p/dogs "red Mist" try that load sometime!
They make a red misted triangle til the mist is gone, seldom any pieces left.

Just a few of my experiences again for what you might get out of it.

Considering the 35 Vmax was designed for the .22 hornet which use from 1-12 to 1-16 twist barrels at 3100 fps that does not surprise me. I bought a box of the 34 VG to try in a .222 Howa, and want to see how they shot over some A2200.
