For fireforming in general, I tend to use up primers I want to get rid of, so long as they're suitable to the application.

In the case of Contenders, time has told me it's a good idea to give them a firm snap when closing no matter what. Don't know if this applies to G2's at all, but it's sure a good idea for the pre-G2 frames (old IHMSA tidbit).

Default Brass...

I guess it could always be faulty brass, brittleness, improper annealing in the body.... who knows. Might just need to call the manufacturer.
