Thanks guys I really appreciate the help. I have dodged many a mistake by asking here first. I will get a jug of H4198 Friday and load up some with H335 today.

I didn't catch what weight bullets but clear up to and including 55gr, the

H 335 will do what you want with plenty of safety margin. Kenny

I am going to use some Nosler Varmageddon's in 40gr. Brass is all prepped but I wasn't happy with the way they turned out in the SS Pins. So back in the Tumbler they went lol.

May be heading up to the Cooperstown NY area to hunt next weekend. The fellas say the area is over run with Coyotes. I am going to see if I can thin them out a bit for them. Also going to do some Squirrel and Chipmunk plinking. While everyone else is out hunting Bear and Deer ole Stevo will be out enjoying the tiny game and tiny calibers.

See what you guys have done to me..

I have had excellent results with 3 different 222 using Nosler 50 grain, Sierra 50 gr and Hornaday 50 grain plastic tipped bullets. I use Remington 7 1/2 primers and WW 748, Western Exterminator, 4198 and vv 133 powders. I seat the bullets to just short of touching the lands. And feed single shot.

I have had 4 222 rifles and in each one I tried 4198 because it is the " go to" powder in 222. Never found 1 excellent load for any of my 4 rifles. Now reloder7 and Vhit 133 provided me with some fabulous groups

I have had the best luck with IMR4198 or H322. IMR4198 is what I started with when I got my first 222 in the 60s. Latter in the 80s tried H322 when the benchresters were using it in their 222's. Either one has been good to me.

All 4 of my .222 love 25grs of CFE223 and 50gr TNT. Velocity with exact same load ranges from 2875 in the tikka to 3100 in the Shilen DGA.

It's hard to find a 222 Rem that doesn't shoot well. That said, I currently have two of them and they both like IMR4198.

AA2015 has been a great powder in both of my 222's.

Default 222 loads

I have always had good luck with H4198 and RL 7 has brought me the most consistent results in 4 of my .222's.
