Default Cleaning rods 17-20 caliber

What is your preference?
Have thought about a patch worm as well.
Carbon fiber, coated, uncoated, brand.

Have an Outers and it has a bow in it.

I use a Gunslick carbon fiber .17 cal cleaning rod for my 17's and 20's, but I always use a bore guide, too. The cleaning rods for these little calibers aren't very rigid and IMO it makes using a bore guide even more important.

I have ss Pro shot and a carbon fiber Tipton, both work super. I use a jag with patches and that set up works just fine. Bill K

I bought these to try for a 10/17HM2. They work pretty well and are reusable.

I prefer a Dewey over any of the others. I have a Tipton carbon fiber and all the weight is in the handle. Dewey balances way nicer.

Here are a few links and some good reading that will absolutely clear things up making it an easy decision on which rod is best for the 17.

I have been using Dewey since Parker Hale became impossible to get. Once had a 17 Coated rod that began Flaking near the feral called and they sent me a replacement NO Charge

IVYRODS, he make's 'em as you want them.
In Denver. Heck of a nice guy too.
Made mine, and met me at a dr's office parking lot
to deliver it.

Dandy! Stainless, bearings in the handle. Can't beat 'em
plus he's on here too as a supporter.
