Is anyone making a Picatinny base for the Dakota Varminter?

Thanks,

Check with Murphy Precision. I think this one will work for your rifle.

FWIW, I use Burris 2-pc bases for round action Savage, then drill out the screw hole and counterbore for the 8-40 screws which I get from Brownell's along with a little fixture for grinding down the front screws so they won't interfere with the barrel threads or bolt lugs. I use Burris Signature Zee rings, optically center the scope, then roughly zero with rifle bore scoped on a target using the offset inserts.
