Do you have a preference for button rifled or single point cut barrels?
Button rifled barrels, unless were talking .17 caliber, Hart is always going to be my default but I have a handful of Lilja barrels and a Broughton that are extremely good too. Single point cut rifling barrels Krieger has always been my "go to" barrel but I do have a Brux barrel on my Kelbly 22-250 and it's a very fine barrel too. Bartlein makes some amazing barrels as well. Any of the top tier barrel companies that make a 20 caliber barrel will serve you well. |

The Banish 30 excellent choice, very versatile, which you will appreciate. Although it will mean more barrels need threading.

22 Rimfire suppressor +
Silencer Co makes a take apart suppressor for rimfires called the Sparrow. I have found that it has to be cleaned after 350 rounds or it will become very difficult to take it apart. A suppressed rimfire is very quiet, but it will make a 10/22 bore/bolt face fill with carbon. BTW, I clean the suppressor with an ultra sound unit that is quite effective.
Shooting my centerfire rifles suppressed has some consequences for the quiet report. The suppressor becomes extremely hot requiring use of something to insulate my hand when switching it to another barrel. The muzzle end of the barrel consequently becomes quite warm. My groups open up and the POI drops when using it. I suspect that the weight of the suppressor changes barrel harmonics. I do not shoot gas guns, but do shoot pds. My interest in shooting suppressed was to prevent the pds from going down out to 200 yds after a few shots, especially in towns that have been shot before I got there. One other issue when shooting high volume with my Silencerco Harvester is that it works loose requiring tightening during high volume firing. Chuck |

I always start out in a dog town with a rimfire or a Hornet, .17 or .22 and work out with larger calibers. You might be surprised to see how many more shots you get.

Yup, that's been my rat shooting tactic for going on longer than I care to admit. Strategy that's worked well over time.

I let my retired marine BIL shoot the close pd with his rimfire match rifles, at least until my bench and rifle are ready. I haven't noticed a poi shift with my Sig 556 suppressor when it heats up. Going to weigh(to 0.01#) them today and record weights in my notebook, see if I see "build up" and also see if heat cleans.

I also, will often start with the 17 HMR on the close one's, then work out to further distance's with the 20 calibers, for the most part.

We shoot the close rats with .17HMR's, out to 200yards. After that, it's CF .17's all the way.
In some areas, shots are under 100yards and for that, it's usually the modified Ruger 10-22's.
