Default 17 Hornady hornet, Ackley improved ❓

Does anyone know if there is a reamer out there for this or has anybody done one.

The 17 Hornady hornet is already an “improved” design in that it has very minimal body taper; even slightly less than the Ackley version. They differ in that the Ackley version has a 33 degree shoulder vs 25 for the Hornady. I don’t have an Ackley version but the case capacity between the two would be very nearly identical looking at the dimensions. You won’t accomplish much changing the shoulder angle on this one, except that you will have something ‘different’, ie expensive, because you’ll have a one-off reamer and dies that’ll cost a small fortune.

Article in a recent Handloader discusses the difference. Convinced me Hornady is the better choice. Now to find a rifle.
