Testing my aging memory, back in the early Cooper days Tom Thomas(The Outdoorsman) sold some nickel plated 22 CCM brass. My brother shoots it in his Cooper 22 CCM. I'll have to check, but I believe it was Fiocchi brass.

22 ccm brass
I bought the 17ccm and a 218 bee from Tom Thomas. The brass has been offered to me by a friend who bought his 22 ccm from Thomas. Will have to check and see who made the brass. Still need to know if nickel brass can be necked down to 17.

not being a smarty pants but if it were me i would have already run one thru the 17 ccm die to find out. unless you don't have a 17ccm die.

Going along with the comment about already trying one to see, I know I size down nickel coated 223 to 20 tac and 20-223ai and it works fine.
Does scuff up the neck area some, but it works. So I would say, try one and see how it works for you. Lube the neck lightly with Imperial case wax. |

Try to get ahold of Gary W. , he'll be the best one to answer your question. He's got/had both.

22 ccm brass
OK, tried one through the 17ccm die and it came out fine. Lubing inside and outside it slipped through the die. Didn't want to experiment w/ the brass before getting advice from this board since they are pricey. Round is a killer on ground hogs w/ Blackhole 17 grain hollow points. Thanks for all your advice.

I would anneal the neck area after forming them. It's been my experience that nickel brass suffers a higher rate of neck cracking than plain brass. Even if you were necking down plain brass cases, it would still be a good idea.

I bought some from here
https://shop.reedsammo.com/22-Cooper...m-CCM_c304.htm I had good luck necking them down but never sneaked or shot them. They went out as samples to others.
