Zermatt Origin action?
I'm pondering a 20 Practical bolt-action repeater using a prefit Criterion 1-11" barrel from NSS. He's also selling the Zermatt Origin actions which are a Rem 700 outwardly, but use Savage small shank barrel dimensions.
Any feedback from you guys using any of the above components? |

I have one of their Remage barrels on a Defiance Tenacity action. Works fine. I see where Preferred Barrel Blanks makes prefit shouldered barrels for Zermatt actions which look pretty good. I have no experience with them though.

I have three, so far, of Bryce's Preffered Barrel Blanks. They are really nice and he does a super job on them. Check out his web site and prices.

Some people have said it is hit or miss with the 11 twist barrels shooting the 40's very well....If thats what you plan on shooting might consider a 10 twist

I believe, by far, more people shooting the 20 calibers, even with the 40-50 grain bullets use the 1/11 twist very well.

I think hit or miss with 12 twist; never heard of problem with 11 twist shooting 40's.

Go to the 1/11, as most do with the 20's and never look back. |
