Default Harold

Great to read your posts and updates again Harold. Super interested to continue watching your results. As you and I had previously discussed, I do believe that case volume area (VTT, Extreme, 20 JI, my ‘Falcon’ case) is a wonderful sized option for the 20’s. Your accuracy looks extremely promising as well. Have you tried any H4198??

I just barreled me a new 20 Vartarg this morning. Trued Rem 700 action with a Muller 11 twist Rem Varmint barrel cut at 22 inches long. Everything went really well chambering and threading this barrel. I hope it shoots like the other 20 Vartargs ive had in the past. I will post results soon as i can.

Ive never shot a 20 Vartarg out but top accuracy ive seen in barrels with 4500 plus rounds down the barrel. My new 20 Vartarg is a Rem 700 Trued Action i made into a single shot. Mullerworks 11 twist Rem varmint barrel at 22 inches long. Im getting 3711 fps with 32 V-Max and accuracy in the .2s. Also Bib 40 gr bullets are going 3500 fps and accuracy in the .1s. This is in a mcmillan HTG stock and Leupold FxIII 12x scope with fine duplex and a Jewel trigger. Im so glad to have a nice 20 Vartarg, everyone needs one!

Shot my new 20 Vartarg again this evening. 32 Vmax and 35 bergers with H4198. Groups where .2 and under. This Mullerworks barrel is not picky at all.

my 20 vt is a tc encore with a 23" MGM heavy factory barrel. i used 32gr hornady v-max and 18.7gr of rel7 that goes .1 - .2" at 100 yards. i use now (either midway or midsouth) 34gr hp dogtown/nitemare and their accuracy .4 - .5" at 100 yards. the dogtown/nitemare are fun bullets. they don't get the "accuracy treatment" as my v-max did. i just load them up and shoot!!!

Set up my first VT 2 yrs ago. Played with a few powders and bullets. The rifle shoots lights out with Berger 35 gr HP, Norma 221FB brass and N-120 and LT-30. Going to try IMR 8208 as soon as I get time. A-5744 also shot well. Using N-120, I got slight primer cratering at 3800 fps so Ive backed it down quite a bit. Working a sweet spot with LT-30 now. Will know more after next range trip
