Had 2 packages of pork hocks last night for supper - oh man - stuffed myself - that has got to be my second favourite - first is 1" thick prime rib steaks, B-Qued.

Like all of it, especially beef, but my all time favorite is a standing rib roast, done on a spit on the grille, low and slow.

I need to ask my sister if she and her husband are going to join in. They live in the Denver area, and... voted for him.
Answer me on these.. If people stop eating beef in order to eliminate the methane produced by cattle and start eating more greens and beans, how much additional methane would people produce beyond what we already do? Is bovine methane more harmful to the environment than human methane? Do cattle produce more methane per pound of grass/veggies consumed than people do? Think I will fix up a big pot of beans and ham hocks, or chile con carne for tomorrows dinner. |

That data is available. I have seen it in a book called the Space Materials Handbook. They needed that info, because they didn't want a bunch of astronauts polluting the air with cabbage farts in a space capsule. Cattle produce a much larger volume than people given a standard diet, as I recall. Not sure I still have the book, and it may take some time to see.

Don't know how many of you guys and gals like breakfast most anytime of the day, like I do.
As a example, today for lunch, with some left over, I fired up a nice thick, close to 3/4 inch thick, ham steak, made some homemade hash browns and a couple, over easy eggs. Did leave off the toast, this time. It was so good. And finished off the ham steak, for a snack around 1630 hr. Nothing like good solid meat and from a real animal. those that like the plant base meat, can have their plastic filler, if they want, I will take good old fashioned meat, like our forefathers all ate. And theirs also, I bet. |

Often. Don't often do ham slabs, but usually sausage patties, eggs and homemade biscuits with honey.

Bill K,
My youngest grand daughter wanted biscuits and gravy for dinner last night. We had biscuits and gravy, eggs and thick sliced bacon for dinner. She usually gets what she wants! |

It is so nice too see so many of the same frame of mind, as to eating good old wholesome food made up from various animals and real food products, either grass/grain fed or good old earth/dirt grown vegetables and all.
Looking forward to a followup and information on how the March 20th "Meat Out Day" goes in Colorado.. Love to see someone take a photo of all the real food venders out and the Mom and Pop restaurants going full bore with thousands of customers. |

Sounds similar, but we also like ham and beans over corn bread. Now I'm getting hungry, and I just ate lunch.....
