Does that read right to you fellas seems a big difference in pressure

Johno
Just checked Hodgdon's Annual Manual Johnno, for the 30gr. bullet loads in the .22 K and the .17's.

The first one listed for the .22 KHornet using CFE BLK is 14.4gr. 3,038fps at 26,300CUP, then 16.0gr. at 3,219fps at 30,300CUP.

You figures match for the .17AH with 30gr. BergerHP.

The .17 Hornady Hornet, is, with CFE BLK, 9.8gr. at 2,711fps 42,900cup and 10.7gr. 2,821fps at 47,800CUP.

The 19calibre on the IMP case should be in between unless the rifle allows slightly higher pressures.

Daryl, I just thought the approx 4.0gr difference seemed a lot in two similar sized cases. Maybe start at around the top load for the 17 AH

Howdy Johno.
Summer here and we have real short ones at that, been busier then a 3 legged cat.
On that .20 Ackley Hornet I'm with Larry, started with AA1680 and it's worked so well I see no reason to look further. I'm not an endless experimenter, I find something that works well I stop looking.
I know that is also where Ray started and stopped looking with his .20 Ackley. Meter's extremely accurately and I have a lot of it. Only thing that might be a negative about 1680 is I believe it has greater lot to lot swings then a lotta powders do but I haven't tested enough to really prove that. An 8lb jug of 1680 goes a long way in cases that hold 13ish grains of powder so I don't buy a lot of them to really do an accurate test. I do know it works real well in the .17 and .20 Killer Bee's as well as the .221 Fireball.
Kinda mean going on and on about how good it is when you already said ya can't get hold of it over there, sorry !
Good luck my friend in finding the magic dust that you'll then have and we will all feel bad about not being able to get over here .
Hope all is well.

Default cfe blk

I'm waiting on a reamer for a 20ah, still a couple of weeks out. when it shows up I'm changing one of my martini's from a 22k hornet to 20 ackley hornet and that's the powder I was going to try. I want to try it in my 20vt's also but 2200 shoots soooo good. we will see?

$86.00 for 1/2 kilo, 1.1 pounds - think I might take up shooting nothing but black

powder - but then, BP pricing is probably out of sight too.

Oh I got it wrong Daryl, its actually 1.0 lbs 440 grams. Checked some other places and its between $60.00 & $65.00 stll very expensive, I asked if they made a mistake and was told as I ordered it and they only got the one container that was the flat rate. B.S. I wont be dealing with them again

That's $20.00 more than we pay here. Most shops are at or just above the $40.00 per pound now. Glad I have a few pounds in storage.
