Default Cfe blk

Looks like a new one, and right next to AA1680 on Hodgdon's burn rate chart.

Default CFE Black

My 17VHA shoots 1680 just great, but will have to give this one a try and compare them, for accuracy and FPS. Bill K

I like where it sits as far as burn rate.

It is supposed to be faster in the 17 HH than Lil'Gun but in the 17 RB and 221 FB as well as the 22 H and 218 Bee Lil'Gun loads are still listed as faster. For those that don't get along with Lil'Gun this may turn out to be a real good choice and the ball configuration will run through a thrower real well.

Looks great in the 17HH and the .221 FB. around 3650 with a 20 grain in the Hornet and 3543 in the FB with a 40 grain bullet. Thats pushing the .222 really hard. I have an L46 that would like a new barrel and a .221 reamer in the tool box. The .221 is pushing 3075 with a 52 grainer!

There's all sorts of load data for 300 BLK in the new 2017 Hodgdon Annual Manual. Bought one last night off of a magazine rack at Fleet Farm, just scratched the surface of the digestive process.

I'll pick up a couple pounds for my 17 Hornet, looks great. Also have AA1680 and IMR 4227!

Latest Update:

My son has been testing CFE BLK in his 358 Yeti.

His conclusion is that it has the same burn rate as Shooters World BLACKOUT.

Witch is just slightly slower than 1680.

Hodgdon Reloading online has several loads listed, from 17AH to 300 Blackout.

I know it hasn't been out all that long but has anyone done any load development with CFE BLK in a 17 Hornet and the 20gr Vmax???
